Today Epic Games and OC3 Entertainment released tools, samples, and documentation for Impersonator. Epic integrated a licensed version of the Impersonator speech and facial animation tool from OC3 Entertainment, making it easy for mod authors to create realistic and emotive talking characters. Atari today announced it has signed New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore to develop the storyline for its upcoming action adventure video game, Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, which will also feature the extraordinary talents of actors Patrick Stewart and Michael Clarke Duncan, who will lend their voices to two prominent roles in the video game. Demon Stone, which is scheduled for release in Fall 2004, is set in the popular Dungeons & Dragons world created by Wizards of the Coast. Demon Stone is being developed by Stormfront Studios, creators of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, for the PS2 & Xbox.

Russian publisher Russobit-M just informed us that European & Australian gamers will soon have the opportunity to play the well-known first person shooter developed by BURUT CT! This all means that the contract for Kreed has been signed with Acclaim and, according to the contract, Acclaim has rights to publish Kreed in European countries and in Australia, VERY soon. Now we only need somebody to bring it to North America, and preferably in a package deal with the add-on included, this game is getting old & wasting away.

American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy said the Xbox was likely to overtake the PS2 on a units-sold basis for the first time ever in the United States in April. He estimated Xbox sales of 275,000 units this month, versus about 200,000 units for the PS2. PS2 sales have been falling in the United States this year, and in the just-ended fiscal year Sony said PS2 unit shipments fell 37 percent in North America. Unless Sony cuts the price on its PS2 in order to spur sales, U.S. game software makers, many of whom track Sony's fiscal year, may find sales growth targets harder to reach, analysts said.
