by Rainier on Nov. 18, 2006 @ 9:28 a.m. PST | Filed under News

For the first time since its launch Halo 2 is not the most played game on Xbox Live. Last week there was some controversy by adding Halo 2 to the Xbox 360 list, but this week it is clear, Gears of War reigns supreme and dethroned Bungie's sequel. Even if the Xbox 360 list and the original Xbox list were combined, then Gears of War would be the top Xbox Live title.

'Halo 2' Not Cross-Platform Compatible, Won't Require DX10 Gfx Card

by Rainier on May 30, 2006 @ 4:21 a.m. PDT | Filed under News

Bungie has released some technical information about the upcoming Halo 2 port for PC. While it will require Windows Vista, it will not be needed for player to have a DirectX 10 compatible gfx card, as Halo 2 will work on DX9 boards as well. PC and Xbox gamers will not be able to play against each other, as Bungie thinks the two-year time frame between launches would be too big and not level the playing field. It will also pose a technical problem, as the PC version will have exclusive maps, and a map editor allowing the mod community to make their own material.

'Halo: The Movie' Delayed Until 2008

by Rainier on May 28, 2006 @ 10:10 p.m. PDT | Filed under News

Back in October of last year it was revealed that Peter Jackson signed on as executive producer for Halo: The Movie, and the project was tentatively scheduled for summer 2007. That date now seems to be premature as IMDb has updated its movie listing reflecting Master Chief's silver screen debut has been postponed until 2008. While a simultaneous launch of both the movie and Halo 3 would be beneficial for both parties, Bungie always claimed the two are not connected in terms of release date, so this does not automatically mean that Halo 3 is delayed as well.

'Halo 3' (X360) Coming March 2007 ?

by Rainier on March 30, 2006 @ 9:19 p.m. PST | Filed under News

According to multiple sources, IGN claims that they have received unofficial confirmation from two independent parties that Bungie's multi million selling franchise is getting ready for prime time early 2007. Of course Microsoft itself refused to decline, as they do with every unofficial statement, but that does not mean it is untrue. Curious is though how Microsoft would forego the holiday sales frenzy in favor of its 3rd party publisher, but then again, any time of the year is good for Halo.
