Blizzard today announced plans to expand and evolve the design of its upcoming tactical-action console game, StarCraft: Ghost. "We are very committed to StarCraft: Ghost as a major part of our lineup," stated Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder. "As a result, we plan to build additional time into the schedule to polish the game until it meets the high standards that our customers have come to expect from Blizzard products. Earlier today Eidos has released some financial numbers in respect of the current financial year to June 30, 2004. Apart from the fact that sales on Hitman and Thief 3 were lower than expected the most notable announcement was that eventhough it seems 'ShellShock: Nam '67' is finished it is being pusbed back until September. "Given these circumstances, and notwithstanding that the game is now ready to release, the Board has decided to hold the release of ShellShock: Nam '67 until September so as to provide this important new franchise with a better opportunity to deliver its true potential." Slashdot reported that Edge Magazine has confirmated, in its July issue, that the Eidos cyberpunk-influenced PS2/Xbox FPS Snowblind, shown at E3, "was originally designed to be a spin-off from [Deus Ex], but has since gone its own way." Crystal Dynamics SnowBlind was initially known as ' Deus Ex: Clan Wars', although at that point, no developer was known on that project.
