The free full-game trial for Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 is now underway. Local newspaper Honolulu Star-Bulletin is reporting that Konami is shutting down its Hawaian studio in Waikiki, and laying off 40 employees by end of this year. The development house has been reponsible for titles such as Frogger Beyond and Frogger's Adventures 2: The Lost Wand, as well as DDR Revolution Ultramix. The reason given was global reorganization of the company and shifting resources to its L.A. and Las Vegas facilities.

EA today announced preliminary financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2006. Net revenue for the first quarter was $413M, up 13 percent compared to $365M for the prior year. However, net loss has increased from $58M to $81M, compared to last year. Among the big sellers for Q1 were 2006 FIFA World Cup and NCAA Football 2007.
