Cartoon Network announced today that it has signed an agreement with Seoul-based Grigon Entertainment to develop the first MMO set in its cartoon universe. The game will be free to download, with subscription and micro-transactions available to players to enhance the gaming experience.

A regulatory filing with the SEC reveals that Activision has been sued by one of its shareholders over its issuance of stock options, in particular backdating, a practice that involves changing the date of a stock option from the day it was actually issued to an earlier date, usually when the stock was trading at a lower price, which makes the option more valuable. As many as sixty companies are currently under investigation for similar practices.

Asustek Computer announced it will deliver PS3 game consoles to Sony this month as the Japanese firm gets ready to step up productions to meet demand for the 2006 holiday season. The first shipment is for 4 million units, with a target of 200,000 units per month thereafter. Hon Hai Precision Industry Co will pitch in shortly and will soon begin making PS3 units for Sony as well.
