The GBA SP launched today in Japan. Hundreds of gamers were seen lining the streets eager to buy their very own GBA SP - the latest addition to the Game Boy range. The new Game Boy Advance SP is available in silver, black and blue and following its high profile arrival in Japan is set to be a hit with style conscious European gamers. The console is due to launch in Europe on March 28th.

SpectraVideo plc has started to ship a new updated version of the immensely popular P99 Light Blaster. The P99D2 utilises the USB technology on the PS2, and is fully compatible with all PS2 and PSone Light Gun games. The P99D2 has all the features that made its predecessor such an amazing success, a real recoil action, auto reload and machine gun (which has been clocked at 400 shots per minute) modes as well as a foot-pedal for genuine arcade action. The new version also incorporates a D-pad to allow the movement of the character in-game* or the options in the start up screens.

Screen Daily reports that the Danish computer game Hitman looks to be the next hit game to get the Hollywood treatment. The game's international distributor EIDOS is currently negotiating with unnamed Hollywood studios - although it has an existing relationship with Paramount for the Tomb Raider franchise. The Danish developers at IO Interactive have so far produced two games based on the Hitman character, and both have been international hits... Hitman 3 is set for a spring 2004 release.

Shrapnel Games announced today that the the newest Space Empires IV Gold patch is available from their website. This patch, v1.84, adds features changes and enhancements and fixes bugs.. Among the changes and additions are two new target types added for components: "Ships/Planets/Sat" and "Ships/Planets/Sat/Drone", option to strategems to control how many drones are launched per target in combat, and changes to weapons platform damage when planets are under attack.
