Interplay and Vivendi Universal Games today announced the development of the sci-fi video game Run Like Hell for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. This survival horror game previously released on the Sony PlayStation2 has been modified to take full advantage of the Xbox technology, including in game support of Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound to accompany the state-of-the art 3D environments. In addition to expanding the existing gameplay area, an exclusive new level has also been created, as well as downloadable content that will be available via Xbox Live. Electronic Arts Inc. and Fox Interactive today announced the North American release of The Simpsons Skateboarding for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Join Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa and Maggie and other famous neighbors from the popular television show, as they enjoy a wild skateboarding ride through Springfield. The Annual Skate Tour has come to Springfield, and the entire town has gone skate crazy on the half-pipes, ramps, and rails. Springfield has been converted into a skate park jammed with skate-able objects and landmarks that mirror images in the TV series, from Itchy and Scratchy Land to Sir Putt-A-Lot's, from the Springfield Gorge to Krusty-lu Studios. 3DGamers today tossed up a patch for the recent multiplayer demo of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Spearhead, updating this World War II FPS to version 2.11. This patch addresses a server problem when "getting on a Mortar and then disconnecting from the server." Also available is the updated Win32 dedicated server for the retail expansion, similarly addressing this crash issue.

Ubi Soft has formed local marketing partnerships with Microsoft throughout Europe and Australia to promote the November 28 European release of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. While marketing actions vary from country to country, the overall strategy is to introduce Splinter Cell as a new huge franchise within the Tom Clancy brand and to position it as a game of choice for Xbox.
