EA announced today that From Russia With Love has gone gold on the PS2 and Xbox and will be shipping on Tuesday Nov. 1, 2005, with a GameCube version following mid- November. The game follows the plot of the original From Russia with Love film, including the battle on the Orient Express and the boat chase sequence, but will expand the story with new action sequences, and utilize such cool toys as the jetpack and a Q-copter as well as the trusty Walther PPK handgun.

While there has not yet been an official announcement, at the Tokyo Game Show Namco announced a sequel to Baten Kaitos was in the works, with a Japanese release date scheduled for December 2005. Baten Kaitos II takes place 20 years after the original with ll new continents to explore, in addition to locations from the original. You play as Sagi, Milly or Giro on your quest to find the source of a series of unnatural phenomena.

the October 4th issue of the London Gazette, Independent Magazines has filed a court petition calling for the compulsory liquidation of game publisher Digital Jesters because of unpaid debts. Digital Jesters is publisher of 'Bet On Soldier' and the upcoming title 'Crazy Frog Racer.' Court date is set for November 2nd in the high court of London, which means the fate of Digital Jesters can be decided within two weeks (thanks Mark).

Digital Illusions announced today that it has signed a new contract with EA for the development of a PC game within the shooter genre. The game is based on Digital Illusions’ brand, will be developed by DICE Stockholm and is planned for a fall 2006 debut. A specific title is not yet revealed, and will be disclosed at a later date. DICE also announced that the PSP version of BF 2: Modern Combat has been put on hold due to lack of personnel, and it is not certain if and when development will continue (thanks bfnation).
