Micrsoft had its pre-E3 conference on Monday, and we were treated to some exciting Xbox Live news, footage from the new Forza Motorsport racing game, several announcements, but above all, a live demo of Halo 2 multiplayer. It’s unbelievable to think that only 10 years ago the internet was nothing more than a curiosity. I remember my first experience of the net in my first year of university in 1997. We were all handed printed A4 guides to introduce us to this new technological marvel by the IT department. I loaded up Netscape and found my way onto Yahoo. The first thing I searched for? Spiderman. Why, I couldn’t say? A few hours later I’d browsed a couple of Transformers fan sites and checked out some porn with my neighbour. It was a fun afternoon, for sure, but it was a few years before I realised just how useful, no actually – vital, that internet thingy was to become.

Fluent Entertainment, Vivendi and Disney Interactive today announced Disney's Aladdin Chess Adventures, which was showcased at this week's E3. Following up on its 2003 hit Hoyle Majestic Chess, Disney's Aladdin Chess Adventures features one of Disney's most recognizable characters, Aladdin. Disney's Aladdin Chess Adventures will be released in October 2004 to coincide with the DVD release of the "Platinum Edition" Ten Year Anniversary Aladdin animated feature film.

iEntertainment Network announces Civilization's Dawn, a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). The new title is being developed to generate revenue at retail and through online subscriptions.

KumaWar, the online game service that allows players to experience real world events through advanced gaming technology, has launched its newest mission, Iran Hostage Rescue Part 2. Based on the April 24, 1980 failed attempt to rescue 53 American hostages held in Tehran, the Iran Hostage Rescue Mission Part 2 offers players the opportunity to execute the Pentagon's actual plan to storm the American embassy and to bring the hostages home.

Japan in the1500's, the power of the samurai class is fading and the use of the Ninja has become necessary to hold any political power in this chaotic time. Kurenai a young girl who’s world is destroyed when she and her father are attacked by the deadly Black Lizard Clan, who captures her and brutally hangs her by a wire and left to die. Miraculously, she survives and is rescued and adopted into a clan where she obtains complete mastery of her unique weapon, the wire. Kurenai has pledged her undying loyalty to her new family. She now lives to avenge her father’s death and will go to any means necessary to destroy the Black Lizard Clan.

Predator: Concrete Jungle unfolds the gripping tale of the alien's history on Earth between two separate time periods, 1930 and 2030, as the Predator embarks on a mission of revenge upon a Mafia organization and its leader who seek to expose its very existence. Taking inspiration from the popular film franchise, the game allows players to roam a vast city landscape while stalking human prey with weapons of annihilation, cloaking technology, and various vision modes.

Digital Jesters has announced that it has secured the publishing rights to thrilling PC-based first-person shooter Bet On Soldier. With near-identical first person shooters flooding the PC shelves week in week out, developers need to present something considerably different in order to stand out from the crowd. Fortunately, Paris-based developer Kylotonn have that very thing.

Konami Digital Entertainment - America, today unveiled Phantom Crash 2050 for the PlayStation2. Scheduled to ship in February 2005, Phantom Crash 2050 is bringing the mech combat genre online to the PS2 for the first time ever.
