A dedicated edition of the million-selling military simulator Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis is coming to the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. Codemasters will publish a customised Xbox version of the multi-award winning game this autumn. The Xbox edition is being developed by Bohemia Interactive Studio, creators of the original PC title, and will contain the entire original game along with an additional prequel campaign called Resistance.

Shrapnel Games announced today that the release date for Interstellar Trader 2 has been moved to March 21st. Tim Brooks, President of Shrapnel Games, said, "We have had a slight delay in the release of Interstellar Trader 2. This is one of those mix- ups that could have been avoided, but unfortunately wasn't. We know there are a lot of fans waiting for this game, and I personally want to apologize for the delay." Interstellar Trader 2 is the sequel to the original strategy simulation Interstellar Trader (available in the Thunder Pack Platinum four pack available from

The world market for video games is growing at a faster rate than ever before, according to a new report by analysts Screen Digest on behalf of ELSPA, the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association. The popular games console systems, Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube and Microsoft Xbox have sold 30 per cent more than the previous generation of gaming technology at the equivalent point in time.

The story begins in Sweden. Sven - our hero - is designated to go to a distant village and meet with two local resistance soldiers. He eventually travels through Eastern Europe to reach Greece - where the game's final chapter will take place. Sven will visit other countries along the way - including Poland and Slovakia. The main plot is about the Wunderwaffe - a superweapon the Nazis hope to use against the free world. Sven discovers the plans - but it's too late to ask for help. Sony Corp., the world's second- largest consumer-electronics maker, will introduce the PlayStation 3 video-game console this year, two years ahead of schedule, to widen its lead over rivals, the Commercial Times said, citing unidentified people at Taiwanese parts suppliers. Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. of Taiwan, which assembles the PlayStation 2 for Sony, and other parts suppliers on the island will start trial production next month, the report said.
