Sony is taking advantage of the PSP momentum to announce quite a few new features for its handheld. Over the weekend the Skype support was made official and earlier today Sony confirmed at the CES that it would also be bringing the, previously only in Asia available, GPS and Camera functionality to North America, as well as an external keyboard to make it easier for people to communicate and bypass the internal keypad. Expected later this year, no pricing or specific release schedule was announced.

Hudson Entertainment announced that it is bringing Dungeon Explorer: Warriors of Ancient Arts to North America. Each version of the game will feature a unique story with epic battles, an all new assortment of weapons and many unique fighting styles. While the Consumer Electronics Show doesn't start until next week (Jan. 7 - 10 in Las Vegas), Sony has already put up its
CES 2008 website showing off its latest electronic products, including the PS3 and PSP. While details are still limited, the PSP section of the site does reveal a possible new feature to be unveiled at the show, support for Skype's free online voice chat/phone service. Sony recently brought a microphone on the market for the PSP, so adding Skype support through a firmware update is likely.

Square Enix is bringing the Kingdom Hearts franchise to handhelds. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for the PSP is set in "the distant past," and will be similar to the PS2 titles, focused on single-player. Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, for the NDS, is set during the KH II events, and has Roxas as the main character.
Sonic Rivals 2 features a revamped rival "jostling" gameplay system for tighter head-to-head competition. Rivalry is even further improved with upgraded power-ups and ranged weapons, allowing players to attack or defend themselves regardless of their position.
