Konami of Europe announced today that a new rendition of its best-selling horror title, Silent Hill 2, will be coming to the Xbox video game system from Microsoft in October. Following the incredible success of the PlayStation 2 version - which has sold more than half a million copies in Europe - Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears takes advantage of the added capabilities of Xbox with enhanced graphics and lighting effects. It also opens a new chapter to the game with a new playable character and new areas to explore.

To date, the strategic relationship between BAM! Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has allowed BAM! Entertainment to bring to North America three popular Sony titles for the PlayStation 2 which were previously only available in Europe. The much anticipated RPG Divine Divinity will be released in the UK on 13th September 2002. For those of you who can’t wait, the first chapter of the prequel story is now

PaGTech, a new independent game development studio, today announced its first title: Scarlet Waves. Scarlet Waves will be a turn-based strategy game in which players will create and customize their pirate fleet to fight against the computer or other players. The game will be released this summer and will be distributed online. "Scarlet Waves will bring some fresh air in the turn-based strategy genre. beta test of Battlefield 1942, EA's hybrid 3D action game that's nearing completion at Digital Illusions. The sparse page specifies a few system requirements, provides an email address for interested players to submit their apparently rather freeform application, and 50 beta testers will be selected from those who enter.
