Valve announced that it will soon start pre-loading Ritual Entertainment's episodic FPS SiN Episode 1: Emergence via its Steam online delivery system. One month before its release Valve will also preload and launch the first in a series of its own episodic Half-Life 2: Episode One. Counter-Strike: Source will get 2 new player models and an HDR enabled version of de_dust, while Day of Defeat: Source is due for a new map that will introduce a new gameplay mode.

Oblivion uses the X360 hard drive extensively to cache (copy and reuse) game data. Quite a few people have complained about
excessive load times, often caused by the cached data being overly fragmented. To solve this problem, reset your Xbox, and hold down the A button as the game is booting up, which will clear its hard drive cache, and create a new one. Once you see the Bethesda Softworks logo video, the game is already loaded, and the cache should have been cleared. This does not affect any save games.
