A usual Friday it seems .. plenty of demo's get released right before the weekend ... First the announced updated Mobile Forces demo at 3D Gamers. The enhanced version of Rage Software's vehicular team-based shooter (74.1 MB) offers the same level and Holdout mode as previous version but includes a dedicated server option, enhanced networking code, rebalanced weapons, tweaked physics, particle effects, a spectator option, gameplay tweaks, bug fixes (thanks Blues). Activision, Inc.’s top-selling game of 2001, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 was honored with the Best Console Sports Game of the Year award by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. The award was presented at the 5th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards ceremony, held at the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas.

Activision announced today that it has shipped Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 for the Xbox and Gameboy Advance to stores (make sure to call ahead to see if its in stock). “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 for Xbox has great new features including an exclusive level, enhanced graphics, and multiplayer support that allows up to four friends to hang out and compete against each other via System Link,” said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios. “The Game Boy Advance version marks the first time the Create-A-Skater feature has ever been brought to the handheld system, and gamers can now play with up to three of their buddies with the Game Link Cable.”

Continuing to build on its successful action sports brand, Activision, Inc. confirmed today that acclaimed developer Gearbox Software is currently in the final stages of production on the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater™ 3. The game will include several new platform specific features such as exclusive online modes, downloadable user-created maps and fully customizable mouse, game controller and keyboard configurations.

Activision, Inc. confirmed today that the company is currently in development on the fourth product in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise, one of the largest brands in interactive entertainment. The game, which is being created by premier developer Neversoft Entertainment, will feature the signature gameplay, top-rated skaters and intuitive controls that have made the franchise a critical and commercial success. The title is slated for release in fiscal year 2003.
