Blizzard Ships 'Rock N' Roll Racing' (GBA)

Blizzard today announced that it has begun shipping "Rock N' Roll Racing" for the Game Boy Advance under its Blizzard Classic Arcade label. `Rock N' Roll Racing' was one of the first games that Blizzard developed, and we've received numerous requests to make the title available again," stated Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder. "We have extremely fond memories of the game, and we look forward to bringing it to a new generation of players."

Blizzard Expands 'Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne' Beta

Blizzard is proud to announce that we will be selecting 10,000 additional participants to facilitate the ongoing testing process of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. We are extremely pleased with the results and feedback that the beta test is generating and would like to offer the opportunity for even more players to experience all the new features that the Frozen Throne has to offer. Those who signed up for the Beta Test will now have another chance to participate in and play-test the Beta as we proceed into the next phase of our testing process. These additional participants can expect to receive an e-mail from us confirming their participation in the next few days. The official Blizzard web site is getting hit hard now that they have announced their secret title - 'Starcraft : Ghost', a mission based tactical console shooter set in the Starcraft universe, developed by Nihilistic Software andco-published by Capcom and Blizzard Entertainment in Japan. Blizzard Started Their Countdown

Blizzard Entertainment has started the clock on their countdown to the start of the Tokyo Game Show this weekend in Japan to announce their next project. Bill Roper has already stated it won't be StarCraft II. A little bird told me it might be a new online game in the style of Everquest, but bigger and better.

Recent Action By Blizzard To Combat Piracy

Blizzard Entertainment confirmed today that it and its parent company Vivendi Universal Games have filed a lawsuit against members of the BNETD project as well as Internet Gateway, Inc., a St. Louis-based Internet service provider. The lawsuit centers on the creation, hosting and distribution of BNETD, a software program that incorporates Blizzard's copyrighted materials without authorization and enables pirated copies of Blizzard games to be played online. Blizzard Entertainment, along with its parent company Vivendi Universal Games, late Friday sued a small Internet Service Provider and its owner for distributing free software that emulates Blizzard's free Battle.net gaming service. The lawsuit claims that the creation and offering of the "bnetd" free software emulator for Blizzard games violates copyright and trademark laws.

Isn't Blizzard Funny? 'Pandaren Race' April Fools Joke

Blizzard confirmed last night that the Pandaren Race story was an April Fool's 'joke'. Indeed, for Blizzard, a race of Panda-men seems rather sensible. "It was indeed a joke," claims Beau Yarbrough (which may also be a joke name; we're not sure). "I'm afraid we have a rather dry sense of humor here, and I apologize if it didn't scan as us being silly." Of course, given April Fool tradition, making any kind of joke after midday on April 1 means that the joke is on the joke-maker, so nah nah nah-nah nah!

Blizzard update.. Again as normal Blizzard updated their site again with following news:

New Warcraft III Unit, The Huntress, a Night Elf Unit in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, is now featured on the Warcraft III Races Page. The Sentinel has been renamed to the Huntress and now rides a Nightsabre panthers. The Huntress still has an Owl pet.

Warcraft III Spell Update, Learn about Raise Dead, an ability of the Necromancer, an Undead Unit in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Raise the Dead now raises multiple Skeleton Warriors instead of either Skeletons or Skeleton Archers.
