Bethesda Softworks has signed an agreement with Del Rey Books to publish two novels based on its high-fantasy video game series, The Elder Scrolls. The game series is known for giving the player the ability to choose how their story will play out and unfold, and for the amount of lore and depth found in these rich game worlds.

Bethesda announced that it will release The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles for Xbox 360 at retail, allowing gamers to play the The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion expansion without accessing Xbox Live, which will also include The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine downloadable content.
