'Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville' (ALL) Kicks Off Feastivus In-Game Event, Team Trees Support - Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 2, 2019 @ 6:46 p.m. PST

Plants vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville is the newest game in the PvZ franchise, where you blast zombies, plants and characters across an animated PvZ landscape.

Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville welcomes players to Neighborville, a suburban region where the clash between flora and undead is always flourishing. PopCap is launching the next title in the beloved Plants vs. Zombies™ franchise with a whole new way to play ahead of launch.

Featuring over-the-top action that fans of previous Plants vs. Zombies shooter titles have come to know and love, players can jump down into Giddy Park for light multiplayer battles or use the social board to interact with other players and group up. Players will unravel the threats of three free-roam regions, including the familiar central location of Neighborville Town Center, as well as adventuring through the outer edges of Neighborville in the hot and dusty Mount Steep, and the lush and strange Weirding Woods regions.

At the core of Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is the game’s emphasis on thrilling multiplayer gameplay. Players can battle it out with 20 fully customizable character classes, including returning favorites like Peashooter and Chomper, along with some fresh new faces such as Night Cap, a master of the shadows, and the funky disco queen Electric Slide. The character roster also includes a Team Play class for each faction, Oak and Acorn, and Space Cadet. Additionally, players can join forces and kick some grass in split screen couch co-op and online co-op across every mode, whether it is battling through flourishing free-roam regions or jumping into battle in six different multiplayer modes. The fun doesn't stop there as players can then partake in Festivals after the game’s October launch to unlock new seasonal rewards.

Today marks the kick-off of the Feastivus in-game event!

Players can explore the snowy-themed Giddy Park social hub littered with presents and holiday themed items.

Players should be ready to vanquish opponents across massive free-roam regions to chase exclusive Feastivus Festival Prize Map rewards, including the Rare Makeshift Reindeer, Super Rare Abominable Chomper and Legendary Feastivus Master costumes.

There’s also the new Multiplayer map, Oozevoir, where Dr. Zomboss’ piles of bouncy pink glop will bounce humans’ brainz out of their homes and onto zombie plates.

Unwrap a Messy New Map

The ooze is loose in the all-new Team Vanquish, Ops, and Mix Modes map, Oozevoir! The Z-Tech Oozevoir is one of Dr. Zomboss’ secret test facilities, where the evil mastermind is testing his latest ooze – a springy pink glop set to bounce humans’ brainz out of their homes and onto zombie plates. It’s up to the plants to capture the Oozevoir from the zombies and pause this plot. Can they d-ooze it?

Earn Frosty Finds in the Feastivus Prize Map

What’s that nipping at your nose? Well, it certainly isn’t Jack Frost. This Feastivus, battle biting zombies (or plants!) in style when you earn stunning seasonal costumes and more from the Festival Prize Map. Reach the mid-way point to unlock Super Rare Abominable Chomper, get the Legendary Feastivus Master costume for Engineer at 100% completion, and earn the Legendary Inspiration Elf costume for Engineer when you take a single path to the end of the map. Plus, uncover tons of other festive items like hats, emojis, expressions, and more.

Explore Giddy Park and More

Shamble through the sparkling, snow-filled Giddy Park to discover twinkling lights, giant gift-shaped balloons, and more. Then team up with friends in split-screen couch co-op* to charter a rocket-powered RV to the hottest (and cheesiest) zones in Neighborville. Wander the wilds of Weirding Woods. Hop on a steam-powered minecart to roam the rocky desert of Mount Steep and thwart the zombies terrorizing Olde Town. Then bust a move on over to Town Center where the disco-loving fun-dead Olds Cool is waiting to get down (and take you down).

With so much to explore, don’t just spend your holidays recycling tattered gift wrap (still recycle it, though)! Jump online with family and friends and transport yourself to Neighborville, the weirdest, wackiest place around. Or, spend some time offline with some fun PvZ activities coming soon – check our social accounts for details! Whatever you do, we’d like to wish happy holidays to all. And, to all a good bite.

In the spirit of giving back to the community, EA and PopCap have also announced a $500,000 donation to #TeamTrees, an initiative started by YouTuber MrBeast aimed at raising enough funds by January 1, 2020 to plant 20 million trees. Every $1 donated is equal to one tree.
