'Chernobylite' (ALL) Kickstarter Fully Funded, Stretch Goals Unlocked - Trailer

by Rainier on April 24, 2019 @ 7:59 p.m. PDT

Chernobylite is a science-fiction survival horror experience, mixing the free exploration of its disturbing world with challenging combat, unique crafting, and non-linear storytelling.

April 26th, 1986, 1:23 AM local time. The day when the Chernobyl nuclear disaster occurred, and the life of 350,000 people changed forever. At the time, you were just a passionate, but naïve, young physicist working at the facility. And like many, you’ve lost what was most dear to you – your girlfriend. Thirty years later you’re still struggling with the demons of the past. To finally put them to rest, you return to what’s now called the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.

30 years after the catastrophe, the pollution in Chernobyl continues to increase due to the unexpected activity of a dangerous substance produced as a result of the explosion, called “chernobylite”. You're far from safe. It is rumored from other stalkers still living in the Zone, that under the influence of its radioactivity, strange things have started to happen. Things only described in tales for naughty children up until now. You’re returning to Chernobyl with one goal in mind: to find your missing girlfriend and uncover the dark secret behind her disappearance. Get ready to confront not only the dangers of radiation and the military presence, but also the potential threat emanating from these new, mysterious happenings. Keep your wits about you and try to maintain your composure, because Chernobylite is going to challenge your very sanity.

Get ready for a thrilling adventure of survival, conspiracy, horror, love, and obsession. One that will6 prove to you that it’s not about how you face your fears, it’s about how you survive them.

Chernobylite is a science-fiction survival horror experience from the team behind the critically-acclaimed Get Even. The game mixes the free exploration of its disturbing world with challenging combat, unique crafting, and non-linear storytelling. The game utilizes Unreal Engine 4 and is based on Reality 51’s scanning technology, which is in development by The Farm 51 for over five years.

With well over a week to go, The Farm 51's Chernobylite Kickstarter campaign has reached it's $100,000 target goal (currently sitting at $120k).

The Farm 51 developers are not slowing down, publishing a brand new video and revealing further stretch goals for the title, including adding a recruitable NPC and an additional level to explore.

The Farm 51 developers can already start preparing their backpacks, Geiger counters, stalker’s equipment and their Reality 51 3D scanning technology to get back to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone as the gamers have spoken! By funding the Chernobylite Kickstarter campaign in just nine days, and still continuing to support it, players have sent a clear message: they believe in the project and want to virtually visit the Ghost City of Pripyat with it looking as real as possible.

And The Farm 51 developers are here to deliver exactly that, and more, with a list of newly revealed stretch goals that include:

  • EFIGS localization – after reaching the $120,000 mark, so it’s already secured!
  • Weapon craft system and content – available once the $130,000 milestone is reached.
  • Real Zone sounds added to the game when it hits $150,000.
  • Tarakan, a recruitable NPC, will show up in the game once pledges are at a level of $180,000.
  • And a whole new Red Forest level will also be added to Chernobylite with the final $200,000 stretch goal.

The last two especially deserve more detailed explanation, so here’s what gamers can expect once those final stretch goals are reached:

Tarakan – proof the Zone changes people. Tarakan is a man who spent many years in solitude. Who is he? What secrets is he hiding? The only sure thing is that he did not meet the main character by accident... He does not remember his true identity, and delusions combine in his head with solid scientific knowledge, making him a kind of techno-shaman. He thinks he is a cockroach competing with the mysterious King of Rats, whom he blames for his present condition. Thanks to Kickstarter support, it will be possible to recruit Tarakan to our team of stalkers and use his specific skills during the game’s missions.

The Red Forest – one of the most dangerous places in the Zone. The area of death in which the vegetation died and took on a reddish color. Due to the very high radiation, nobody ventures there any more... And that's why it’s an excellent place for a group of settlers who are hiding from soldiers. The Red Forest is a huge level of exploration, filled with mysterious figures that hide from the world, despite the extremely high contamination.

Ally or compete with other stalkers of the Chernobyl zone to survive. Remember that life is fragile, and it’s your decisions that determine the fate of your companions. You can spend as long as you need to prepare, however, be aware that your story is still being written. Every passing moment, your chances of success are dwindling: comrades are dying, supplies are running out, or an unexpected patrol could discover you. And on top of all this, supernatural dangers arise around you in mysterious patterns. Each day brings new challenges with the ever-increasing severity of your current situation. Plan your strategy carefully if you want to survive.

Craft your gear and weapons to protect yourself from the hostile military personnel and supernatural threats lurking in the zone. Make use of the sophisticated tools at your disposal to aid you in your struggle while navigating the rough and contaminated environment. Stay undetected and gather all the evidence you can to piece together events from the past.

Decide what happens in the world around you by making choices and finding, or avoiding, the truth.

Maintain your resolve and keep your wits about you, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is not what it once was. No one can foresee the horrors that may have befallen your beloved.
