In 1789, in an alternate Paris, with iconic locations and monuments adapted by Spiders' developers, the French Revolution has stalled. The people's revolt has been heavily suppressed by an army of automatons, deployed on the King's orders.  

1789 is the year of the Storming of the Bastille and the start of the monarchy's downfall. Steelrising depicts an alternative version of history: what if King Louis XVI, who loved clockmaking, had built an army of robots capable of quelling the insurrection? Powerful and cruel, this army spares no one and violently punishes rebels. Paris is burning and bleeding. Men, women and children are being systematically massacred.

In this terrifying chaos, you play as Aegis, an outstanding automaton and bodyguard of Marie-Antoinette. Appointed by the Queen, Aegis will have to navigate through a Paris crawling with machines. Each fight with these mechanical enemies is a challenge where the player's skills are subjected to a tremendous ordeal. Such is the price to pay for those who want to change the course of history.  

Aegis, the main character, will fight against this reign of terror to try and change the course of history.

Spiders and NACON are pleased to announce that the new DLC “Cagliostro's Secrets” will be released for Steelrising on November 10, 2022.

Cagliostro's Secrets DLC is a chilling quest that will take you to a whole new area that harbours secrets hidden by the king. On this dark adventure, you will encounter new enemies and unlock new weapons and costumes.

In this new quest, you find yourself embroiled in a gripping story involving the King's agent, the Comte de Cagliostro. No one will return unscathed after exploring Hôpital Saint Louis – a new area whose secrets have been hidden by Louis XVI. On this dark adventure, where you must outwit Cagliostro's Mesmer-inspired machinery, you will encounter new enemies and unlock new weapons and costumes. Are you ready to discover the shocking truth about the alchemy that powers the King's automatons?

This DLC offers players a new level and several other content:

• 1 level (Hopital Saint Louis)
• 1 main mission
• 5 weapons
• 1 final boss
• Various new enemies and new variants of existing enemies
• 2 new characters
• New side missions that invite you to revisit previously explored levels

Players will not be able to access the “Cagliostro's Secrets” expansion until they reach a certain point in the main story. You must have completed the "Bastille" level to access the new content.
