Battlefield Heroes is an all-new Play 4 Free cartoon-style shooter that will bring classic Battlefield gameplay to an all new mass audience, featuring a built-in matchmaking system to ensure that players of equal skill are paired together for fair play. Apparently Korean Neowiz is currently working on the Battlefield franchise, taking the Battlefield II engine and making it to a free-to-play model.

Combat Mission: Shock Force is a tactical military simulation depicting a hypothetical near future conflict between NATO and Syrian forces in Syria.

Ignition and SNK Playmore announced that they are bringing Samurai Shodown Anthology to Europe. Containing all 6 titles, the game's setting, use of sword based weapons and varied and memorable characters was a departure from other fighters when it first appeared in 1993. Originally planned for late 2009, it is now scheduled for release in Europe on March 28, 2009.

SCEA announced that MTV Networks will bring its hit entertainment, kids' and comedy programming (including MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Spike, Logo, CMT, The N, TV Land and Atom) to PlayStation Network's video service in the United States.

Brütal Legend is a 3rd person action adventure game starring Jack Black in the role of roadie Eddie Riggs, who sets on an epic quest to build an army of rockers with only a broad axe, a big block V8 and his faithful guitar in hand. Never officially announced Brütal Legend will have a "rich" multiplayer portion, as confirmed by Double Fine's GDC session details.

The gaming industry was dealt a severe blow last year when Iron Lore, known for the Titan Quest & Dawn of War titles, failed to find funding for its next title and was forced to shut down. Two of its members, lead designer Arthur Bruno and art director Eric Campanella, formed Crate Entertainment last year and are currently sharing office space with Mass Effect PC developer Demiurge Studios. Having acquired the rights to Iron Lore's IPs, Crate Entertainment is currently working on Black Legion, the same RPG that IL was shopping around prior to its demise.

EA announced its initial plans for the PlayStation Home Beta, SCEA's 3D social gaming community that allows users to interact, communicate and share gaming experiences online.
