Xbox Live Arcade Sales Surge 58%

Over the course of the five-week Summer of Arcade program there was a 58% increase in unique members purchasing titles, and August broke the monthly revenue high by 67%, driven by titles like Castle Crashers, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Galaga Legions, and Braid.

'Dissidia: Final Fantasy' (PSP) - New Screens & Trailer

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is an all-new title in the FF franchise, although it's not part of the compilation of Final Fantasy VIII or the Ivalice Alliance. Not a standard RPG, it's labeled a dramatic progressive action title, and Tetsuya Nomura, known for Kingdom Hearts, has signed on to be the game's character designer.

Blockbuster Dropping Price of 40GB PS3 Unit

A leaked Blockbuster memo reveals that it will be dropping the price of the discontinued 40GB PS3 model from $360 to $299. The 40GB model has been replaced by an $500 80GB version, which lacks two USB ports and backward compatibility with PS2 titles, but that model is also getting replaced later this year by a higher end version with a 160GB HD. SCEA has stated in the past that it would not drop the price of the PS3, so this is probably just a move to clear the old stock.
