While EA's
financial statement confirmed Battlefield: Bad Company and Mercenaries 2 delays, the subsequent conference call offered a whole lot more information. EA execs revealed Spore is due "before end of the year," while BioWare's RPG Dragon Age is vaguely scheduled for fiscal 2009. The earlier rumored Rock Band Wii (a logo was printed on the recently release Microphone packaging) has been confirmed and is expected in the early summer. A new Lord of the Rings is coming, but whether that is a new title or a revival of the
previously canceled White Council was not disclosed.

EA announced preliminary financial results for its fiscal Q3 revealing net revenue was up 17% ($1.5 billion compared to $1.3 billion for 2006) driven by FIFA 08, Madden 08, NBA Live 08, Need for Speed Pro Street, Rock Band (1.5 million sold), The Simpsons Game and The Sims 2 Castaway.
