The latest issue of Japanese trade magazine Famitsu confirms rumors that SEGA is working on the next installment in the Yakuza franchise. The game will no longer be set in modern days, but in 1605, during the Edo period. Yakuza 3 will sport 4 fighting styles, hand-to-hand combat, one or two katanas, or wielding a huge sword. It's currently scheduled for a spring 2008 release in Japan.

Revealed yesterday, during Microsoft's pre-TGS media briefing Team Ninja announced that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be an X360 exclusive and available worldwide in 2008. A sequel to the original Xbox title, Ninja Gaiden 2 has players once again assuming the role of Ryu Hayabusa as they guide the ninja hero on a quest to avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race.

interview with Game Informer magazine, Castlevania series creator Koji Igarashi revealed he is working on a new 2D installment for the NDS. The next console iteration might be Xbox 360 exclusive however, saying "I think the Xbox 360 would be the best platform for the U.S. market. The U.S. market is the biggest market for the Castlevania series, so I will give the first priority to the U.S. market."
