According to its sources, GameIndustry.biz reports that British developer
Lionhead Studios is in acquisition talks with platform holder Microsoft and French publisher Ubisoft. Electronic Arts has ruled out the possibility of acquiring the studio behind
Fable and
Black & White. None of the parties were willing to comment, although Lionhead did confirm the talks, which occur frequently.

Atari today released its financial results for the third quarter fiscal 2006, and it's not looking good at all. Net revenue dropped 30%, and went from a net income to a net loss. Additionally, its Executive Vice President and CFO, Diane Baker, resigned to pursue a new opportunity. As if that were not enough, its credit facility let Atari know they will not extend any further credit, which raises substantial doubt about Atari's ability to continue. The statement also reveals that Test Drive Unlimited is coming to PC.

An article in the Chinese-language Commercial Times seems to think so. After initially announcing it at last year's E3, and some footage at TGS 2005, PS3's first appearance could be next week at the Taipei Game Show (TGS) 2006, which takes place between February 16-20. Sony’s exhibit will occupy a total of 80 booths, including 20 booths allocated exclusively for the PS3. The unveiling could be a countermove against Microsoft's Xbox 360 launch in Taiwan, starting March 16, 2006.
