SEGA today announced Yakuza (known in Japan as Ryu Ga Gotoku), a thrilling action-adventure game created by producer Toshihiro Nagoshi and award-winning novelist Seishu Hase. Developed exclusively for the PS2, Yakuza takes players deep into the world of Japan's infamous underground organisation.

Alpha Prime is a first person action game with an emphasis on the single player experience. At its core is a Science Fiction story written by the foremost Czech Sci-fi author Ondrej Neff. Game play will be a varied balance of combat and more technical activities such as hacking and remotely controlling robotic devices.

EA today revealed details on the upcoming Battlefield 2 v1.21 patch. A limited beta test will start end of the week to make sure that the patch is thoroughly tested before it goes out officially. Issues being addressed are : Hummer/TOW crash bug in the Special Forces expansion pack, screen capture is now working, performance issues with certain ATI cards, server browser can now filter by map name, and only 2 claymores can be dropped at any one time.

The sequel to the destruction racer is set to accelerate its way onto the PS2, Xbox, and PC in the nitrous charged form of FlatOut 2 this June, courtesy of Bugbear Entertainment and Empire Interactive, while Vivendi Universal Games will distribute the title in the U.S.

id Software has released a new patch for Raven's FPS Quake 4. UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received three complaints from viewers about misleading TV ads regarding Activision's Call of Duty 2 and CoD2: Big Red One and has them taken off the air. The complaints were made due to pre-rendered material, made exclusively for the TV ads, that do not represent the end user quality of the product. While Activision claims such practices are standard procedure, ASA does not agree and regulations do require ad material to be accurate representations of the product.
