Several weeks back, the first hints started dropping about a possible new Battlefield game through a leaked trailer and hints in various interviews. A thread on the official
PCGamer forums seems to confirm this, as several people have received their May issue stating it has a Battlefield 2142 article, as well as a trailer on its cover-mounted cd, which can be also be
viewed online. Battlefield 2142 is set in the future, the world is plagued by a second Ice Age, and wars have broken out over the remaining territories. Mech Warrior-meets-Battlefield 2 is the best way to describe it, and it is scheduled for "Fall 2006."
