Lionhead Studios and Activision announced today The Movies Online, a community website where aspiring moviemakers can upload and share their motion pictures created with The Movies on the internet! The site will launch a virtual film festival for aspiring film-makers when the game ships this fall. Members of the site will also find a host of competitions, Awards Ceremonies, a Prop Shop and additional downloads that will help extend their gaming experience with The Movies.

SOCOM 3, developed by Zipper Interactive, captures the reality of modern day warfare, and features three Areas of Operation: Southern Asia, Northern Africa and Eastern Europe and is packed with over 10 missions, over 30 new weapons, larger maps, improved AI, allow you to drive/operate vehicles and you can now also go for a swim.

Game industry veterans Greg Costikyan and Johnny Wilson announced today that they are joining forces to launch Manifesto Games, a new venture to build a strong and viable independent game industry. THQ has announced that tomorrow at 3PM EST (noon PST) it will release a singleplayer demo for its freshly launched Dawn of War expansion pack Winter Assault. Stranger is a real-time strategy game, with elements of role playing games set in a world, split in two parts, surface and a subterranean one, which are in a tenuous balance.
