'DoveZ: The Second Wave' Gets European Release Date

Dutch publishers Xing Interactive have announced the August 1st release date of a horizontal-scrolling space shoot 'em up, DoveZ: The Second Wave, which has been available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Singapore since the start of 2005. The suggested retail price is 9.99 GBP/14.99 Euro/US$19.99. DoveZ: The Second Wave is in the style of R-type and Raptor. Of course this game boasts many additional features to the standard repertoire of shoot 'em ups.

'Destroy All Humans!' (PS2/Xbox) Gets Orchestral Score

Composer Garry Schyman, whose experience outside of videogames includes feature films, television movies, and series television, has created the original orchestral score for Pandemic Studios/THQ's upcoming Destroy All Humans!. The musical score is written in the style of 1950's sci-fi movies such as the classic The Day The Earth Stood Still, using a Theremin as the lead instrument.

Dynasty Warriors 4 introduces a new stage and strategy system to the series' frenetic battlefield action. In the new system, the game opens with a map of Ancient China, fractured into 24 different regions. Players start with one region, and then choose another region to invade or defend. Officers will recommend a strategy or policy, and then combat begins. Victory goes to the first warrior who unifies all 24 regions under a single kingdom.

Future 'Counter-Strike Source' Steamy Update #7

Valve announced today that it is content with the reception after recently releasing Counter-Strike: Source maps de_inferno and de_port, and on that note, give us a look at what's coming next. This week, Valve has released a couple of screenshots from the remake of the classic Counter-Strike map cs_assault, which is now set in downtown Chicago. Valve would also like to keep everyone abreast of the games the MOD community is working on, so here is a list of a few we're keeping our eye on: Plan of Attack, Pirates, Vikings, and Knights 2, Sven Co-Op 2, Sourceball, and Dystopia.
