Midway and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced a multi-territory publishing agreement that grants Midway the rights to publish interactive games for console, handheld and PC platforms based on the upcoming computer animated motion picture The Ant Bully.

Midway announced today that it has acquired Australian based developer Ratbag Holdings Pty Ltd. Midway acquired the privately-held developer in a primarily stock transaction for 418,570 Midway shares. The studio is currently working on several unannounced Midway products for both current- and next-generation systems. The studio will be renamed Midway Studios - Australia.

Namco announced today that Codo Technologies' GBA exclusive Rebelstar: Tactical Command has gone gold. Rebelstar: Tactical Command is a turn based strategy game that puts the player at the epicenter of a human revolt against alien oppressors.

According to TotalVideoGames, a Walmart employee leaked what is believed to be the official price for Microsoft's next gen console. The Xbox 360 will be sold for $299 and will be available in North America starting November 4th, the UK will see it on shelves later in the month. Games will carry an average pricetag of $59.99, the first few titles will include Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3.

Grotesque is a new adventure/rpg from German developer Silent Dreams, and promises to be an original blend of traditional fantasy RPG (like Gothic, Fable, Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment) and sarcastic humor with adventure elements along the lines of Monkey Island. Shenmue Online developer JC entertainment announced that it has halted any further development on Sega's Shenmue Online. Without giving any details as to why, the Korean developer said it has not worked on the game since May earlier this year. Whether the project is scrubbed altogether or just temporarly on hiatus is not clear, so let hope SEGA sheds some light on the matter soon. Shenmue Online is a MMO Action/RPG based on the Dreamcast Shenmue franchise, and was scheduled to launch this year.

While it was already known that GSC World's oft delayed FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl was no longer expected in 2005, there was no specific date given for when it was rescheduled. Earlier reports indicated it could be as late as fall 2006, but during THQ's quaterly financial results conference call it became clear that we may not have to wait THAT long as, while it is not listed in its current fiscal year which ends March 2006, THQ's CEO Brian Farrell stated it would instead be released shortly thereafter and an early 2006 release was still not ruled out.
