As i was surfing around the web today i found out that developers Trilunar had to cease development of the game Dragonkind for XBox as well as close down TriLunar. Here is a clip:

Today we have a disappointing announcement. Due to lack of resources, we have had to cease development of the game Dragonkind as well as close down TriLunar. The company was funded 100% internally, and without access to an external source of capital, we are unable to continue operating. This decision disappoints us as much as it probably disappoints all of our fans and supporters. Full scoop here!

The awesome, updated follow-up to one of the most revered PC games of all time … Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the latest incarnation of the franchise that started the 3D gaming revolution. The game is a first-person shooter, built upon the powerful QUAKE III Arena engine, with focus on fast-past action, and journeys into the darkest realms of the Nazi war machine. The style of the game emphasizes the over-the-top comic book vibe of the original Wolfenstein 3D.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced that it was reducing the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of its PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system to £169.99 in the UK and to between €249 - €259 in Eurocurrency countries. The price cut, which is effective from midnight on Thursday 29 August, is expected to give a huge boost to sales of the market leading entertainment system in the run up to Christmas.

Playable Demo Of NHL 2003

Tiscali Games got a Playable demo of NHL 2003 that features one single player game using Carolina and Detroit. Most of in-game options (icing, offside etc.) are not accessible, only auto/manual shooting and three difficulty levels. DirectX 8.1 is required to run this 49MB demo.

Madden Challenge Announced

Answering the call from thousands of its die-hard Madden NFL Football video game enthusiasts Electronic Arts today announced the creation of the EA SPORTS Madden Challenge, a nationwide, 10-city Tournament to decide the best player of the world's top-selling football video game. Winners from each of the ten Regional Tournaments will be flown to the new Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club in Ocho Rios, Jamaica for the Madden Challenge Finals. The ultimate winner will be invited to attend the famed EA SPORTS Madden Bowl, held every year during Super Bowl week, in San Diego, California.

'Mindware Studios' is preparing to show off their first title, an action/adventure game 'Cold War' at the ECTS later this week and released a few new screens. Cold War will put the player in the role of Chaser Jones, an American reporter caught in a web of intrigue and conspiracy in the Soviet Union during the 80's. The game will emphasize stealth (much like IGI2 and other recent tactical shooters), and will take you to Eastern European historical settings such as the Red Square, Chernobyl and Baikonur.

GameHouse Sells 100,000th Copy of 'Super Collapse'

GameHouse announced today that it has made its 100,000th sale of its downloadable game, Super Collapse, less than 10 months after it was released. “Collapse has been wildly popular —this is our first downloadable game to achieve this mile marker so quickly,” says Garr Godfrey, cofounder of GameHouse, which features a variety of free and downloadable games on its web site. “The demand for Collapse has been so unbelievable that we are considering introductions of similar games,” concludes Godfrey, hinting there soon may be a new offering in the works. Super Collapse, released last November, was named 2001 Game of the Year by RealNetworks. The objective is to collapse blocks before they rise to the top of the screen, with game play accelerating as players progress to new levels. Available for both PC and Mac OS X, the game features bonus levels that are not available on previous versions, in addition to a host of other features.
