Computer and video game publisher Gathering of Developers, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. and UK-based developer FireFly Studios Ltd today announced that "FireFly Studios' Stronghold: Crusader" for the PC has gone gold. "Stronghold: Crusader" is a dynamic "castle sim" set in a distant Arabian land that combines the finest aspects of the city builder and real-time strategy genres. The game is set to ship late September 2002.

Noticed on GoneGold that the PC version of Infogrames Zapper (developed by Blitz Games) has gone gold and should be shipping to stores soon. Zapper is a funny arcade/action game that "starts with the “avoid-em-up” game play mechanics of Blitz Games’ own Frogger 2: Swampy’s Revenge, and then takes the action to a whole new level." Blizzard Entertainment has started the clock on their countdown to the start of the Tokyo Game Show this weekend in Japan to announce their next project. Bill Roper has already stated it won't be StarCraft II. A little bird told me it might be a new online game in the style of Everquest, but bigger and better.
