Beyond the holiday season, Nintendo is already making plans for 2012. Nintendo is revealing a previously unannounced 3D Mario tennis game for the 3DS, as well as a new title in the Luigi’s Mansion franchise.

Super Mario 3D Land is the first-ever true 3D Mario platforming adventure, where players can scout levels and find secrets before they play using the built-in gyro sensor feature of the Nintendo 3DS system. The game will feature propeller blocks and will have StreetPass functionality.

After a lengthy, but smooth, flight, we've arrived home safe and sound from our New York trip. The fun is over, and now it's back to work.

A few interesting observations from NYC: It does indeed never sleep. There's always stuff happening left and right, the street vendor food smells SO good, the subway stations are warm and humid, and while there are less stinky bums lying around, the people in general smell more. We ate so much over the past week, we're on a diet for the rest of the month to make up for it.

Haven't been able to play games all week (the laptop is a dual core but has a crappy video card in it), so I'm itching to play some more Dead Island, Deus Ex and APB Reloaded.

This November, a new system update for the 3DS will enable owners to capture 3D video footage, or create their own original 3D productions and show them to others in 3D, all without the need for special glasses.
