It's not a secret Valve isn't a fan of PS3 development, so maybe EA is outsourcing the project like it did with the Orange Box.

When Ascaron filed for Chapter 11 a few months back, it revealed that an add-on for its recently released Sacred 2 was in development, as well as a 3rd installment in the franchise.
