Released in 2007, Driver: Parallel Lines (Wii/PC) and Driver '76 (PSP) was the last time we heard of the franchise after Ubisoft bought the license and its developer Reflections Interactive from Infogrames/Atari the year before. The Driver offers an open, fast-paced driving action-movie experience, and while the previous title in the series, Driv3r, sold well, the past few games didn't score all too well in the media. Ubisoft seems to want to give it another try as it has recently registered Driver: The Recruit, indicating a new title might be in development at the UK studio.

'BioShock' Movie Hits Snag, On Hold Due to Excessive Budget

Gore Verbinski has long expressed his interest in doing the BioShock movie adaptation of 2K's action game. It will begin production in 2010, and John Logan (The Aviator, Star Trek: Nemesis) has written the screenplay, while BioShock creator Ken Levine is consulting. Having recently turned down a 4th Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Verbinski has hit a snag and the BioShock film has been put on hold. Universal Pictures has asked the parties to look for an alternate location, as shooting in Los Angeles will have projected costs of $160 million, although it reaffirmed this will not be another 'Halo' movie fiasco.
