Champions Online is an MMORPG based on the popular pen-and-paper Champions RPG, giving players the power of total customization of their hero experience while they explore a vast universe of richly detailed 3D environments. Cryptic Studios has added a new Rate My Champion feature which lets you view, and rate, characters created in the Champions Online Beta version.

GTA IV: The Lost and Damned features a new main character and plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV; new missions that offer an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City with new multiplayer modes, weapons and vehicles; and a diverse soundtrack with additional music.

D3Publisher of America's Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, developed by Infinite Interactive, incorporates a powerful blend of casual and hardcore gameplay elements, similar to Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, into an all-new futuristic, science-fiction setting.

Real Heroes: Firefighter puts players in the soon-to-be soot-stained boots of a rookie firefighter who has just been assigned to a busy metropolitan fire station. Players will undergo a “baptism of fire” in an escalating array of emergency situations. Originally slated for Q1, Real Heroes is now scheduled for Q2 2009.

Ubisoft's Q3 2008-09 financial results are better than expected, up 13% compared to last year, mainly due to Far Cry 2 (2.9 million units) and Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party (1.5 mill.) and its casual lineup, which offset the slower take-off for Prince of Persia (2.2 mill. units). While previously listed as Q1 2009, I Am Alive has been bumped into Ubisoft's 2009-2010 lineup, which means at the earliest April 2009, joined by Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell Conviction and a new Ghost Recon title.

Red Alert 3 takes players on an RTS adventure to an alternate future spawned by time travel run amok, featuring a fully co-operative campaign, the series' light-hearted style and classic, action-oriented gameplay. The Ultimate Edition includes everything from last year's Red Alert 3, while offering an extensive array of exclusive bonus content.

Metal Gear Online is a dedicated online game featuring characters, weaponry and levels taken from and inspired by Metal Gear Solid 4, allowing up to 16 people to play simultaneously. The free Bomb Mission provides players with an all-new combat experience that expands the playability and adds variety to the game.

Tomb Raider: Underworld – Beneath the Ashes sends Lara back to the remains of Croft Manor where she uncovers a massive series of never-before-seen caverns and age old crypts used to protect and hide a deadly source of power.

In Dec. 2008, Sony announced that it would lay off 16,000 employees, cut back on investments, close several of its manufacturing plants, and pull out of businesses as it is looking to cut $1.1 billion. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the end of the bad news as Sony has just revised its earning estimates and is now expecting to lose $2.9 billion instead. As a result, it plans further layoffs in electronic, pictures, music and gaming divisions, and it will restructure and close manufacturing plants.

Capcom announced that Mega Man Star Force 3 will be coming to North America in two different versions, Black Ace and Red Joker, allowing two friends to share unique items and powers utilizing the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, enhancing their individual characters.
