Battlefield Heroes is an all-new Play 4 Free cartoon-style shooter that will bring classic Battlefield gameplay to an all new mass audience, featuring a built-in matchmaking system to ensure that players of equal skill are paired together for fair play. The current beta phase ends Friday, and according to Senior Producer James Salt it will re-open early 2009.

Sports Interactive's long running sports simulation franchise is getting a new installment with Football Manager 2009, known in North America as Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009, which is finally making the move to 3D with a new match engine.

NIS America announced Mana Khemia: Student Alliance, a port of the PS2 game but with an all new multi‐player mode so players can now team up and hunt down monsters to get rare items. Halo 3: Recon is a new chapter in the Halo saga that lets gamers experience events leading up to the story told in Halo 3 through the eyes of a new hero in the Halo universe. According to the latest GameInformer, the stand-alone expansion extends the Halo 3 experience with 3-5 hours of new campaign excursions, and is not considered "a $60 title." Unlocking the Vidmaster Challenge achievement will earn players the Recon Armor, currently exclusive to only a few members of the Halo 3 community.

Bionic Commando features Nathan Spencer (voiced by Faith No More's Mike Patton), a government operative who represents the ultimate fusion of man and machine.
