Citing multiple sources, Variety claims that film financier Legendary Pictures is in negotiations to acquire Gears of War developer Epic Games, which would make it the first of its kind to get into video games. It is no stranger to the medium, though, as Legendary CEO Thomas Tull was, up until recently, on the board of Brash Entertainment, but resigned a few weeks ago because of the publisher's disappointing performance. Set in WW2, Velvet Assassin is a 3rd person shooter combining intense battles with guerrilla missions, featuring extensive stealth elements and challenging puzzles. Citing engine compatibility issues, Gamecock confirmed the PS3 edition has been canned.
