Activision Shuts Down Underground Development Studio

Following this week's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars preview event, Activision has confirmed that it is shutting down its internal Underground Development studio. Acquired by Activision in 2002, the studio previously known as Z-Axis, known for titles such as Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX and Aggressive Inline, is finishing up the PS3 port of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The 45 employees are being given the opportunity to work at other Activision studios.

Based on Dreamworks' upcoming CG-animated comedy about a lazy, irreverent slacker panda, Po (voiced by Jack Black), who must somehow become a Kung Fu Master in order to save the Valley of Peace from a villainous snow leopard, Tai Lung.

The C&C series continues to thrive with Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath. As the expansion pack to C&C 3 Tiberium Wars, this RTS game returns to the Tiberium universe with Kane at the center of an epic new single player campaign. EA has released the special bonus tournament multiplayer maps which were previously exclusive to people who had pre-ordered the expansion.

It's time to get creepy again as Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced that is developing a remake of the PS2 horror game Forbidden Siren. Currently only scheduled for release in Japan on July 24th, Siren: New Translation will have a demo on PSN Japan next week. No word on when we may see it in North America or Europe yet.

Rokkitball puts players on an ultramodern playfield with multiple goals. The tactics reward a combination of precision fire and team positioning to disrupt the enemy and control the field. Challenging bot players can be used to fill out games if there are too few humans, or to practice your skills when your friends aren't available.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition, CD Projekt's action/RPG, not only means changes in the game's mechanics, better graphics, shorter load times, improved stability, but will also the recently released D'jinni mod editor, as well as two completely new adventures (8 quests). Originally scheduled for May 16th, it has been delayed until further notice, to give the various languages extra polish.
