StarCraft II will feature the return of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg races, overhauled and re-imagined with Blizzard's approach to game balance, designed to be the ultimate competitive RTS game. Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce revealed that early on in the development it was decided to focus on the existing races, but that a fourth race may be introduce in a future addon.
