Sony has rolled out a new PlayStation Store content, starting with 3 new tracks for Rockband (Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden, Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots, and Die, All Right! – The Hives). A demo for Kane & Lynch, two addon packs for Folklore, a remake of Stardust in HD, classic PSOne title Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, vehicle unlock codes for Need for Speed ProStreet, and a flurry of trailers and themes.

Gravity Interactive, known for Ragnarok Online, is kicking it up a notch in the new year and announced it is bringing Requiem: Bloodymare to North America. This new MMO, designed for a mature audience, melds elements of horror, fantasy and sci-fi and introduces a world where the misuse of science and magic has warped the natural world into a twisted vision of death.

Eidos parent company SCi announced it no longer believes a sale of the company is in its best interest, and also updated its 2008 release schedule, delaying 4 of its 10 2008 titles until the end of the year, with the most prominent being Tomb Raider: Underworld, (previously on PC, PS3 and X360, now also on NDS, Wii and PS2). Eidos revealed that controversial Kane & Lynch has sold more than 1 million copies since launch.

According to Reuters, Sony Japan will discontinue the 20- and 60-gigabyte PS3s and instead focus on the 40GB model. In North America, the 20GB version was terminated barely months after launch, and now only the 40 and 80 GB are available, while the UK is also phasing out the 60GB edition in favor of the 40GG one. The draw for the medium-sized version is that it's cheaper to manufacture, but it lacks any backward compatibility with old PS2 titles. Sony, however, said it will launch new models to respond to end-user preferences sometime in the future.
