Today, Portugal were crowned the Xbox Cup Champions having won EA’s 2006 FIFA World Cup X360 tournament. At the centre of the Platz der Republik, Berlin, where 8500 people attended the ceremony, Microsoft's Peter Moore presented the trophy and was first to offer his congratulations to the triumphant team.

EA today declared the winner of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany. Using a simulation engine in the 2006 FIFA World Cup videogame, EA was able to test all 32 teams in the competition and determine that the Czech Republic would come out on top.
