Good Old Games has signed an agreement with Belgian independent game developer, Larian Studios, to give fans of role-playing games around the world the opportunity to play DRM-free and XP & Vista compatible versions of Larian’s acclaimed Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity.

Set in a new fantasy universe, Divine Divinity takes the player on a fantastic quest in a land torn apart by corruption and dark magic. Throughout his journeys the player will get the chance to develop his character as one of six character types, and meet a variety of people and fantastical beings.

Divine Divinity is an RPG in which you take control over either a male of female character whom you guide through a highly interactive fantasy world. Your goal is to develop your character by making him/her better in a variety of skills, discover mysteries, combat enemies and save the day. Larian Studios has just issued the third patch (hotfix Nr3) for Divine Divinity, bringing your retails game to v1.33 (UK&US). Larian has just put up the second patch (names Hotfix Nr2) on the official Divine Divinity websitel updating all English versions of Larian Studios' RPG (including the U.S. version) to v1.32. CDV Software Entertainment today announced "Sudden Strike II" and "Divine Divinity" for the PC are now available in stores. Sequel to the worldwide hit "Sudden Strike," World War II real-time strategy "Sudden Strike II" adds Japan as a playable nation and includes 50 new historically detailed units. Called "massive, ambitious, and exciting" by GameSpy, wildly anticipated "Divine Divinity" offers over 200 hours of fantasy role-play.

CDV releases free e-book chronicling the background to its forthcoming role-playing title. Whilst Divine Divinity – the hugely anticipated PC CD-ROM role-playing game from CDV Software Entertainment UK – is not due for release until September 2002, those desperate to immerse themselves in its detailed world and rich background story can do so immediately thanks to a new e-book which has just been released worldwide.

If you like to do a lot of socialising, then check this out: the outstanding fantasy game Divine Divinity offers you a lot of non playing characters (NPCs). The non playing characters will be able to interact with around 3000 characters! Do NPCs react to the gamer's performance? Sure, at least the most of them. They certainly do not hang about looking into the space. But if the hands and feet of an NPC should be tied up, don't expect too much … Check out new screens!

Larian Studios released the demo for their upcoming RPG "Divine Divinity" a few days ago and over the weekend they seem to have released a little fix addressing a small bug with the installed (worked fine for me). Click read more on where to grab it.

Belgian site Spelletjesgarnaal has gotten the new Divine Divinity demo available for download. Larian Studios just made it public, but beware its 400mb big!! The 25th of April 2002 CDV’ s re-launched official website of Divine Divinity is going online! It also features a special treat: the marvellous Dvinine Divnity intro sequence! This masterpiece was created by French animation experts ExMachina, one of Europe’s best animation studios. Larian Studios today tossed up a new 30 MB - 5:47 min movie from their upcoming game Divinity. In this new movie there are five scenes. Four of them show non-combat situations and one shows how’s it like to leisure through a forest being of a much higher level than the enemies you’re meeting. Grab this new movie here!

1) Tell us about yourself. Who are you and what do you do at Larian Studios.

I am Frederik 'Fredric' De Caster, and I am 20 years old, which makes me the youngest member of the Larian Team. I started working for Larian Studios in Januari 2001, originally as a world-editor but after a few months I became a story-editor. Mainly I am working on the main story in Divinity, but I am also responsible for several side quests. Since I used to be a world-editor some parts in Divinity's world were also made by me. Read on.

Aye - it's no joke. has turned out to be quite a beast, and while the beta has been there for some time now, the QA necessary for this game is amazing. There's so much you can do, and all of that has to be tested, balanced and tweaked. If we wouldn't do that to the point of perfection (which we're trying) you would end up with a game with "potentials" rather than "accomplishments", and that's one thing we don't want to do.
