As expected Codemasters has released their announced patch for the recently released Colin McRae Rally 3 demo. This patch brings the codebase up to date with the final retail version of the game, and improves steering wheel & force feedback support, updates sound effects and volume balancing, gives a better frame rate, etc. Read more for detailed fix list and download links ...

Visually Colin McRae Rally will be a feast of cars, stages and countryside with the Ford Focus RS World Rally Car returning as the lead car. The in-game Focus is being designed to feature fully moving working parts, such as suspension, and the enhanced damage engine will result in a totally destructible car - panels can be ripped off and punctured as well as dented. This gives him opportunity to experience cars’ physics changing in different weather and on different surfaces (gravel, sand, snow, ice and asphalt). Terrains in Xpand Rally are created on Chrome Engine. This enabled the XR team to create realistic and abundant in flora terrains of a few dozens of square kilometers. TVG let us know that after heated rumours the publisher officially cancels the GameCube version of Rally Fusion: Race of Champions. "Rally Fusion: Race of Champions will not be appearing on the Nintendo GameCube platform as originally planned," said an Activision spokesperson. "Due to unforeseen problems in development, the release date has slipped beyond the Christmas period and we are no longer able to schedule its expected completion date. As a result, the decision has been taken not to precede any further with the project."
