NCsoft Corporation has updated beta testing plans for its highly anticipated online computer game, City of Heroes created by San Jose-based, Cryptic Studios. For the next two-and-a-half weeks, NCsoft will be inviting customers who have purchased the City of Heroes pre-order box into the beta test. All customers who have registered their pre-order box accounts will be included in the beta by April 7, 2004.

EA announced an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with start-up indie development studio, Castaway Entertainment for its new action-RPG. Comprised of members credited with titles such as Diablo, Diablo II and Diablo II: Lords of Destruction expansion pack, Castaway is beginning to staff up to produce this major title.

Electronic Arts today announced a worldwide publishing agreement with celebrated game designer Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games. The two companies have partnered to create a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game for the PC. The new title is slated for release in 2006. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

CCP, in cooperation with IGN/GameSpy, is offering Earth and Beyond users an upgrade to EVE Online. This is a response to the high number of inquires and downloads CCP has received during the last 48 hours from Earth and Beyond users. These users have been forced to look elsewhere for an alternative Science Fiction Online Game after Electronic Arts announced it would close down Earth and Beyond at the end of summer.

LTStudios today announced their new toolchain and development system Myriad – which has been specifically designed to deliver highly populated environments for Playstation 2, Xbox and PC. Crimson Tears takes place in Tokyo--50 years from now--where a biotechnology company named Weponix secretively controls the world as an underground manufacturer of war machines. Crimson Tears consists of randomly generated dungeons. In the beginning of each dungeon, the player is situated in a base where characters and equipment can be chosen. Once in the dungeon, the player must fight enemies, find items, beat the middle boss, and then return back to the base.

THQ today announced that a code revealed in the Warner Bros. Pictures feature film "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed" unlocks an alternate ending in the GBA game of the same name and a mini-game in the PC version. The code, along with gameplay footage, appears on the silver screen as Scooby-Doo plays a GBA during the credits sequence.

After it was released & yanked a few weeks ago, Sierra has re-released the v1.1 update patch for Lords Of The Realm 3 addressing a couple of game crashes, applies a few multiplayer lobby enhancements, and fixes over a dozen gameplay bugs.
