Activision, Inc. is taking gamers to the frontlines of combat with Call of Duty, a new umbrella brand that lets players experience the dramatic intensity of war through the eyes of common soldiers. Set on the battlefields of the 20th century's most monumental conflicts, the series will thrust players into gripping, cinematic, authentic warfare. As unsung heroes, players experience the war from the perspective of multiple characters from numerous countries, each with varying roles and duties and who fight along side fellow soldiers in epic battle sequences. The Call of Duty brand will support Activision's multi-platform strategy and include both console and PC games.

Day of Defeat is a World War II multiplayer first-person action game that pits players in Axis vs. Allies battles in Western Europe at the height of the war in 1944. Players enlist as snipers, infantrymen, machine gunners, riflemen and sergeants, and then hit the frontlines running using authentic weaponry. The game, which initially debuted as a MOD, features multiple modes of play, a total of 15 multiplayer maps of action -- including 10 new maps, all new character models, hundreds of new animations, increased textures and all new particle effects system.

Today Hercules send us some details of their new upcoming speakers, the XPS 2.100 and it suffices to say they look awesome. The speakers are made with neodymium, a new material with a higher magnetic value than ferriet used in most traditional speakers (for the tech savvy people neodymium has 12.000 Gaus vs. 4,200 Gaus in ferriet magnets). GameSpyDaily got word from Aspyr Media that it will publish Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for both the PC and Mac. Full details will be released tomorrow, but we do know that the game will offer just about all the great features of the PS2 version along with support for up to eight players online or via LAN. No word yet on the official release date, but Aspyr says that a demo and a trailer are in the works, though didn't specify when they would be made available. The WarBirds team will launch the official download of the PTO theater on Wednesday, 2 April. This is the fruit of their last three months of labor, and will include a new PTO terrain, five new aircraft (and variants), two new ground vehicles, a few new or improved cockpits for existing aircraft, and a new strategic resupply system in addition to many bug fixes and other improvements.. Though the update becomes official on Wednesday, they will upload it to some mirror sites earlier in the week to give everyone a chance to grab the download prior to release.
