I noticed that
Blues digged up some news about the early build of DOOM III that was leaked last week.. id Software's John Carmack posted some comments on the
Slashdot forum. Here is the clip:
No, this was not leaked on purpose.
Yes, we are upset about it, and it will have some impact on how we deal with some companies in the future, but nothing drastic is going to change in terms of what support is going to be available.
Making any judgements from a snapshot intended for a non-interactive demo is ill advised.
John Carmack
The object of Deathrow is for you to win matches by whatever means necessary, either by scoring as many points as possible before time runs out, or by severely injuring your opponents and removing them from the field of combat. As the game begins, two teams of four players square off in a combat arena to compete in an intense, unmediated slugfest to determine the champion. As you engage in fierce hand-to-hand combat with highly intelligent AI opponents seeking retribution for not only themselves, but also for their fallen teammates, you'll soon understand the sacrifices necessary to become the supreme team of the league. Check out our brutal review!
In Earth & Beyond, players become captains of their own starships and live futuristic galactic adventures as they explore, trade and fight with thousands of others. In addition, because this is a living, dynamic universe, players will face new challenges over time as the developers add sectors, planets, missions, monsters, characters, features, evolving plot lines and more. Check out our spaced out review!
