At this weekend's Major League Gaming Halo 3 competition in San Diego, Bungie's Lukems and Shishka
revealed that they are working on a remake of the classic Halo: Combat Evolved map Chill Out, to be released in the upcoming map pack as Cold Storage. No further info was revealed, but details are expected in the next Bungie update.

It has been rumored quite a few times already that while Bungie may be taking a break from the Halo franchise, it doesn't mean a fourth installment is out of the question. On the contrary, Brothers in Arms developer Gearbox Software, who ported the original Halo to PC, is said to be secretly working on Halo 4. According to

Rumored since Microsoft's X06 event, and confirmed last year when it partnered up with Peter Jackson to form Wingnut Interactive, a new Halo title is in the works, but not "at" Bungie. Microsoft Game Studios is currently recruiting a Creative Director, Producer, Game Engineers and more to “help develop a new experience in the Halo universe,” and "partner with key Hollywood talent." The latest
EGM issue reveals the next project from Halo powerhouse Bungie, LEGO Halo. As the dev. team was impressed with LEGO Star Wars they decided that after wrapping up their trilogy a spin-off was the best way to go. While the game still revolves around Master Chief, other known characters such as Cortana, the Arbiter, and Avery J Johnson will make an appearance, as well as new ones. LEGO Halo will be 90-10% 3rd/1st person view, chronicle all 3 titles, and is scheduled for fall 2008.

Microsoft and the U.S. Army announced that U.S. gamers will have a chance to prove their skills in the first ever Halo 3 Championship Tournament, hosted exclusively on Xbox Live. Registration will begin in March, and the actual tournament kicks off in April 2008, preceded by Basic Combat Training exercises.
