Blizzard Entertainment today announced the 5th July 2004 as the date players can start signing up for the European Closed Beta of its eagerly awaited MMORPG, World of Warcraft. Blizzard issued this statement earlier today : "The first round of emails has gone out, and the North American and Korean World of Warcraft beta tests have officially begun. If you didn't receive an email, don't worry; we'll be adding more testers at the start of each upcoming beta-test phase. Keep an eye on www.blizzard.com for news on when we'll be opening up the additional phases, because that will be your clue to check the email account you used to sign up. Also, anyone interested in tracking the progress of the beta test can visit our World of Warcraft Community Site, which will contain regular updates as well as general information about the game."

Bizzplanet dropped us a note that they have a transcript of the Word Of Warcraft fansite chat that was held a few days ago. The reason of the meeting was to talk about World of Warcraft. During a press conference held today, Blizzard Entertainment announced plans to build a local World of Warcraft team in Europe. The team will be responsible for community relations, customer service, and technical support for the game. Additionally, they will manage the distribution and hosting of World of Warcraft on local European servers. With a regional team in place, Blizzard intends to affirm its commitment to the European game community by delivering a massively-multiplayer experience of unparalleled quality.

Anytime between now and 6:00 pm PST on Wednesday, February 4th, residents of Canada, Korea, and the US can submit their applications for a chance to help test one of the most anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing games of 2004. Blizzard has announced the beta signups start for their massive multiplayer online role-playing game World of WarCraft.
The Blizzard Web site has word that you can start signing up as of 6pm PST on Wednesday, January 28th (will only accept applications from Canada, Korea, and the US). "The test for Europe and other countries around the world will happen later this year. Testers are not going to be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis, so you will be able to submit an application and receive equal consideration anytime during the signup period."

World Of Warcraft fans have surely noticed that the Q4 2003 promised beta for Blizzard's WoW has not yet appeared. In a shocking turn of events Blizzard has now announced it is being delayed. "Over the past few weeks, it has become apparent that the World of Warcraft beta will not be available within the fourth quarter of 2003. The development team is currently hard at work testing the alpha version of the game, and we look forward to bringing you an outstanding beta in early 2004."
