When it rains, it pours! Ever since Activision revealed it would not be renewing its ESA membership nor attending E3, several other companies announced they would not be attending (NCSoft, Foundation 9, Her Interactive), while others confirmed their presence (D3P, Warner Bros., Majesco, Bethesda, EA, etc.). One name still missing from either list was LucasArts, and today PR director Margaret Grohne announced that while LucasArts will no longer be an ESA member, it would still be attending the E3.

It all started when the ESA sent out invites to the press for its E3 Media & Business Summit 2008, revealing an exhibitors list that lacked quite a few names. So far, Activision Blizzard is not attending (nor renewing its ESA membership), as well as NCSoft, Foundation 9, and Her Interactive. In the meantime, a few others who were not on the initial participants list have confirmed their participation (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Bethesda), while id Software is still uncertain. Today, we can confirm that Atlus will not be present, but Codemasters, D3 Publisher, Majesco, Rebellion, Southpeak and Square Enix will be present.

Earlier this week, Activision Blizzard revealed it would not be attending the E3 Media & Business Summit 2008 (nor renewing its ESA membership), and subsequently NCSoft and Foundation 9 confirmed they would not be participating either. While id Software's attendance is still up in the air, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
issued a statement that it will be present, and in spite of not being on the exhibitors list, Bethesda confirmed it will be showing off Fallout 3 at the event.

Yesterday it came to light that Activision Blizzard would not be attending the E3 Media & Business Summit 2008 (as well as not renewing its ESA membership altogether) and while the exhibitors list seemed to be incomplete, NCSoft and Foundation 9 confirmed they are not attending either. While id Software themselves seem to be uncertain (first confirmed, then retracted it) Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment issued a statement making clear that in spite of not being on the list, it will be attending E3.

The ESA has sent out the invites for the E3 Media & Business Summit will be held July 15-17, 2008, but has once again moved from last year's Santa Monica location to good old Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). While certain companies could still be in negotiations, the exhibitors list is blatantly missing various high-profile companies, such as Activision/Blizzard, Bethesda and Warner Bros. NCSoft had already announced last year they would not be present.

The Entertainment Software Association announced today that it is moving its E3 Media & Business Summit from last year's Santa Monica location, back to the L.A. Convention Center, home of the former E3. Taking place from July 15 – 17, 2008, E3M&BS will still be a trade-only event, unlike E for All, and will be open to ESA members and outsiders alike. Similar to last year, attendance at all events, meetings, and demonstrations will be by invitation only
