After yesterdays news about Interplay sueing Vivendi, this is not really a surprise. Interplay Entertainment Corp. announced today it has terminated its distribution agreement with Vivendi Universal Games.

Vivendi Universal's video game arm has sued one-time partner Interplay Entertainment Corp., alleging Interplay breached a distribution deal between the two. The suit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, accused Interplay, which is controlled by French publisher Titus Interactive, of trying to get out of a product distribution deal by making claims of unpaid payments under the pact (thanks Gamers.nl).

Interplay and White Wolf Publishing, Inc. ("White Wolf") announced today they are joining forces again to develop interactive entertainment projects based on White Wolf's second largest franchise, Exalted. The exclusive agreement with White Wolf allows Interplay to develop, publish and distribute interactive entertainment games based on the characters and fiction from the hugely popular pen and paper fantasy role-playing game and the unique art style of the Age of Sorrow universe on which it is based. Announcements regarding specific platforms and features will be released in the weeks ahead.

Interplay Entertainment Corp. announced today the company has sold all future interactive entertainment publishing rights to the "Hunter: The Reckoning" franchise to Vivendi Universal Games. Interplay retains the rights to the previously published "Hunter: The Reckoning" titles on Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo GameCube. The "Hunter: The Reckoning" franchise is a property of White Wolf Publishing Inc.

Black Isle Studios, the award-winning RPG (roleplaying game) division of Interplay, and leading console game developer Snowblind Studios announced today their plan to bring the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance franchise to the Xbox.

BioWare and Interplay have reached a settlement ending the dispute between the companies. Per the agreement, Neverwinter Nights, developed by BioWare, will be published by Infogrames worldwide subject to certain pre-existing Interplay licenses.
